I have been photographing families and their newborn babies for over five years. Sessions can take place in the home, outdoors, or in our beautiful studio. Once you book a session with me, you will receive a prep guide containing information on what to wear and what to bring. There are three essentials that you should never forget, and I will explain why.
Essential number #1: It’s important to always have a pacifier, or even multiple pacifiers, on hand. While some parents may avoid using pacifiers, having one can be helpful when taking newborn photos. A pacifier can help soothe your baby and make it easier to get them to sleep and stay calm during photo sessions.
Essential number #2: A soft, snuggly blanket is essential for in-between feedings and wrap/pose transitions. Keeping the baby warm and comfortable is so helpful. Essential number 2: A soft, snuggly blanket is a must-have for in-between feedings and wrap/pose transitions during baby photoshoots. This blanket provides a warm, comfortable environment for the baby, ensuring they feel safe and cozy throughout the session.
Essential number #3: Extra clothes for everyone; Extra clothes for everyone; Baby may have accidents, so I always recommend having extra clothes for them. For the family I also recommend you bring extra clothes for before, and after the session; if you are driving to the studio, I recommend you do not wear the clothes that you are planning to wear for the family photos as they can get wrinkled, stained, etc, once you get to the studio you will be able to change, clothes for after, having comfortable clothes to change into is important as the studio will be warm and we will be moving around as we do newborn portraits.
I hope this is helpful to you and can help you prepare for your future newborn and family session with us at Simply Photo Studio.
